Description:
The Senior Data Engineer will play a critical role in designing, developing, and maintaining Modern Health's data infrastructure.
This role requires a deep understanding of data architecture, data modeling, and ETL processes.
The ideal candidate will have extensive experience with big data technologies and cloud platforms.
Responsibilities include designing, developing, and maintaining scalable data pipelines and ETL processes to support data integration and analytics.
The engineer will architect and implement data storage solutions, including data warehouses, data lakes, and databases.
Collaboration with data scientists, analysts, and other stakeholders is essential to understand data requirements and deliver solutions that meet business needs.
The role involves optimizing and tuning data systems for performance, reliability, and scalability.
Ensuring data quality and integrity through rigorous testing, validation, and monitoring is a key responsibility.
The engineer will develop and enforce data governance policies and best practices.
Staying current with emerging data technologies and industry trends is necessary to evaluate their potential impact on the data infrastructure.
Troubleshooting and resolving data-related issues in a timely manner is also part of the job.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field is required.
Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in data engineering in a modern tech stack.
Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Java, or Scala is necessary.
Strong experience with big data technologies is required.
Expertise in SQL and experience with relational databases (e.g., MySQL, PostgreSQL) and NoSQL databases (e.g., MongoDB, Cassandra) is essential.
Hands-on experience with cloud platforms such as AWS, Azure, or Google Cloud is required.
Familiarity with data warehousing solutions like Redshift, BigQuery, or Snowflake is necessary.
Knowledge of data modeling, data architecture, and data governance principles is required.
Experience with IaaS technologies (e.g., Terraform) is necessary.
Excellent problem-solving skills and attention to detail are essential.
Strong communication and collaboration skills are required.
