Description:

BitMEX is a leading global exchange for crypto derivatives, offering a professional-grade trading platform since 2014 with an impeccable security record.
The Data Engineering team is part of the DevOps department and plays a crucial role in managing data feeds from the BitMEX trading platform across the firm.
Responsibilities include designing and maintaining enhancements to the data warehouse, data lake, and data pipelines to improve reliability and consistency.
The role also involves improving the queriability of large historical datasets using industry-standard tools and careful data representation for both technical and business units.

Requirements:

A minimum of 4+ years of experience in the data engineering field with proven design and technical implementation of data warehouses is required.
Candidates must have experience with OLAP databases and an understanding of data structuring/modeling, including trade-offs between storage/performance and usability.
Experience in building, deploying, and troubleshooting reliable, idempotent, and consistent data pipelines using disparate in-house and external data sources, such as Airflow DAGs, is essential.
Proficiency with AWS Redshift, Glue Data Catalog, S3, PostgreSQL, Parquet, Iceberg, Trino, and management using Terraform & Kubernetes is required.
Candidates with less experience will be considered for the Data Engineer position.
