Description:

Orita is seeking a talented Senior Data Engineer to handle massive amounts of data efficiently and reliably.
The role involves unifying the data pipeline with an event taxonomy and normalization layer to ensure high-quality data for machine learning models.
You will be part of a team of engineers, reporting to the Director of Data, Will Goldstein.
Responsibilities include designing and building scalable and reliable data pipelines, developing workflows using Airflow and dbt, and collaborating with data scientists and machine learning engineers.
You will optimize data retrieval, ensure data quality and security, implement ETL/ELT processes, and contribute to feature engineering efforts.
The position requires monitoring and troubleshooting data pipelines to maintain optimal performance.

Requirements:

Proven experience as a Data Engineer with a strong track record in data-intensive environments.
A minimum of 5 years of experience in data engineering.
Expertise in Python and SQL for data processing and manipulation.
Hands-on experience with big data tools and comfort with async Python.
Proficiency with DAG tools such as Airflow, dbt, or Dagster.
Experience in building and optimizing data pipelines, architectures, and data sets.
Strong understanding of data modeling, data warehousing, and ETL/ELT development.
Familiarity with cloud platforms like AWS, GCP, or Azure, and experience deploying data solutions in the cloud.
Knowledge of dev-ops best practices, container technologies, and continuous integration.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with attention to detail.
Excellent communication skills to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
A strong sense of responsibility and ownership of projects, with a bias for solving problems and shipping impactful features.
Intellectual curiosity and a desire to iterate and improve systems.

The position offers the flexibility of remote work with occasional in-person meetings.
