Description:
The Senior Data Engineer at Excella participates in designing and building modern data products, including raw data stores and cleansed data repositories, through batch or streaming data pipelines.
They collaborate with a team to create a robust, sustainable, and flexible design, leading the technical delivery using Agile frameworks like Scrum or Kanban.
Responsibilities include developing and managing data processes, automating data pipelines, monitoring data quality, integrating data management solutions, and building data repositories such as data warehouses and data lakes.
The Data Engineer also researches data acquisition, evaluates suitability, actively manages risks to data, and ensures a data recovery plan.
Requirements:
4+ years of relevant professional work experience.
Expertise in creating robust data pipelines, cloud platforms (preferably AWS), secure and performant data stores, analytical platform architectural patterns, data lake design patterns, scripting languages (preferably Python), NoSQL databases, and source code version control management using git.
Project experience using Scrum or Kanban framework.
Strong written and oral communication skills, ability to communicate collaboratively, adjust communication style to fit the audience.
Aptitude for learning new technologies, entrepreneurial spirit, and ability to thrive in environments rewarding self-initiative and resourcefulness.
Understanding of DevOps Research and Assessment (DORA) and capabilities within the DORA capability catalog.
