Description:
The Senior Data Governance Practice Lead will report to the Director of Data Governance and collaborate with key stakeholders across the business to address significant technical challenges.
This role involves leading practice and Workstream efforts by applying data governance technologies and developing processes to ensure data meets high standards for privacy, accuracy, observability, and regulatory compliance.
Responsibilities include building and integrating technologies for Data Governance, mentoring other Data Governance Practice Leads, managing work queues with data-related issues, and creating content to describe program progress.
The role requires ownership of objectives and key results, developing process documentation, maintaining training materials, and presenting program content as needed.
The candidate will contribute to vendor relationships for tools that achieve federated governance and provide user technical support for Data Governance tools.
The position also involves conducting industry research to incorporate best practices into the Data Governance program and ensuring data security, accessibility, quality, and traceability.
Specific workstreams include Data Catalog & Glossary, Data Quality & Observability, Data Policies & Workflows, and Data Domains & Data Products, each with defined responsibilities.
Requirements:
A solid understanding of HIPAA, GDPR, CCPA, PCI DSS, and related regulatory frameworks is required.
Candidates must have at least 5 years of experience in data engineering, data science & analytics, or software teams focused on data governance or similar fields.
Experience in integrating and operating multiple data governance tools is essential, as well as managing data in a multi-domain enterprise.
Strong interpersonal communication and relationship-building skills are necessary to influence others effectively.
A BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related quantitative field is required, along with at least 5 years of experience in data-related roles.
Candidates should have experience with data storage architectures, data flow architectures, and Master Data Management best practices.
Proficiency in data querying skills, including SQL, is required.
The ability to work effectively from a remote location using modern collaborative tools is essential.
