Remote Senior DevOps Engineer, Generative AI

Description:

• Qarik is an IT Solutions company co-founded by Google Cloud Engineering leaders, focusing on the Google Cloud Platform.
• The company has grown to 100 employees in less than three years and serves brand-name clients (F1000).
• The Senior DevOps Engineer will focus on building cutting-edge Generative AI applications for document summarization, classification, and question-and-answer systems using unstructured data.
• Responsibilities include developing innovative applications on Google Cloud, contributing ideas to enhance product functionality, and collaborating with the team to design, document, implement, test, and support build, deployment, and configuration management systems (CI and CD).
• The role involves automating the code-to-deployment workflow for microservices on GCP and providing technical guidance to team members.
• The engineer will engage with Cloud Infrastructure, Platform Engineering, and SRE teams to set goals and implement processes aligned with modern engineering practices.
• The position requires being on rotation to support production systems and fostering a culture of continuous improvement.

Requirements:

• Proficiency in Google Cloud, including IAM, Networking, Observability, cloud SDK, and GCS.
• Strong expertise in Terraform for infrastructure as code.
• Proficient in Shell scripting and programming experience in Python, Java, JavaScript, or other relevant languages.
• A Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
• Experience with CI/CD automation and orchestration tools such as Jenkins, Cloud Build, Tekton, or Spinnaker is preferred.
• Familiarity with infrastructure/systems logging and monitoring tools like New Relic, Datadog, Splunk, Prometheus, or Grafana is desired.
• Experience in infrastructure actuation/automation using tools like Ansible or similar is a plus.
• Knowledge of public cloud platforms (AWS, GCP, Azure) and key platforms like Kubernetes (k8s) and VMs is beneficial.
