Description:
Parity is a leading core blockchain infrastructure company founded by Dr. Gavin Wood, co-founder of Ethereum.
The company has developed advanced technologies for Ethereum, Bitcoin, and Zcash, and is pioneering the Polkadot protocol and Substrate framework.
The DevOps team is part of the Infrastructure & Data department, consisting of over 20 remote-first members.
The Senior DevOps Engineer/SRE will lead multiple projects, focusing on automation and coding of infrastructure deployments and continuous delivery pipelines.
The role requires exceptional technical proficiency to support developers in contributions to Polkadot/Kusama runtimes and the Polkadot node client.
Responsibilities include mentoring junior engineers, engaging with the technical ecosystem, and contributing to blockchain node operations.
The position emphasizes the importance of operational excellence, infrastructure solutions, and maintaining visibility and impact within the organization.
Requirements:
A minimum of 3 years of experience with Linux, including security, networking, and virtualization.
Proficiency in containerization technologies such as Docker and Kubernetes.
Experience with configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible) and cloud orchestration (e.g., Terraform).
Strong skills in designing and maintaining CI/CD pipelines.
Knowledge of at least one programming language, preferably Python or Rust.
Familiarity with monitoring tools like Prometheus/Grafana is a plus.
Understanding of blockchain technology and deployment of blockchain networks.
On-call experience with a site reliability mindset, including incident response and postmortem analysis.
Ability to work autonomously, prioritize tasks, communicate effectively, and function within a small, partly-remote team.
