Premia is a decentralized finance (DeFi) protocol specializing in options trading and swap aggregation for cryptocurrency assets.

The Senior Engineering Leader will guide and scale the Research Team focused on Financial Engineering and Quantitative Finance, as well as the Infrastructure Team encompassing Cloud Platform Management, Smart Contracts, and DevOps.
This role requires a strong technical foundation, exceptional leadership skills, and a visionary approach to architecting and delivering cutting-edge solutions.
Key responsibilities include overseeing the design and execution of systems supporting the lifecycle of derivatives trading, leading the architecture and development of institutional-grade derivatives infrastructure, and driving innovation in financial engineering and backend solutions architecture.
The leader will inspire and motivate cross-functional teams, provide mentorship to engineers, and collaborate with product managers and designers to create actionable roadmaps.
The role also involves driving end-to-end software lifecycle management and ensuring the continuous availability and reliability of the exchange.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 8-10+ years of experience in software engineering.
Expertise in designing and managing large-scale production systems, particularly in cloud-based architectures (GCP preferred), is required.
A functional knowledge of derivatives markets, including options and perpetual futures, is necessary.
Proficiency in building 0→1 systems and scaling them is essential.
Exceptional coding and debugging skills, along with a deep understanding of cloud architectures and algorithms, are required.
Candidates should have a proven ability to manage and lead diverse engineering teams, driving motivation and timely delivery.
A track record of mentoring engineers and fostering career growth within a team is important.
Enthusiasm for emerging tech, modern practices in software engineering, and Web3 development is expected.
Prior experience as a Technical Lead or Engineering Manager, hands-on experience with cloud-based financial exchanges, and familiarity with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) are considered nice to have.
