Description:

  • Human Interest is on a mission to ensure that people in all lines of work have access to retirement benefits.
  • As a Senior Full-Stack Engineer on the Onboarding team, you will build industry-first products that allow businesses to launch their 401(k) in as little as five minutes.
  • You will collaborate with domain experts to design, build, test, and own systems and processes for servicing 401(k) plans and enhancing customer satisfaction.
  • The role emphasizes building robust systems that are observable, maintainable, and scalable.
  • Daily responsibilities include designing, building, and maintaining user experiences for both external and internal customers, working on foundational services that serve as the data funnel of the platform, and improving complex processes to reduce human intervention.
  • You will collaborate with other engineers and stakeholders, develop ownership over domains in the system, advocate for users, write clean code, and participate in the development life cycle activities.
  • The engineering organization values continuous improvement, collaboration, and a commitment to enhancing the customer experience.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 7 years of experience building and maintaining software in production is required.
  • Candidates should have a desire to work with technologies such as Node, TypeScript, React, AWS, and PostgreSQL.
  • Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with both engineers and non-engineers.
  • A strong desire to learn, think creatively, and share knowledge with others is expected.
  • Experience in mentoring other engineers and conducting thorough code reviews is preferred.
  • A proactive and empathetic mindset is necessary to address customer problems effectively.
  • Past experience in startups and/or fintech is advantageous.
  • Nice-to-have qualifications include experience with component libraries/design systems, familiarity with React Hooks, knowledge of GraphQL, experience with cloud technologies, system design and architecture experience, a background in 401k or finance tech, self-driven learning, and proficiency with Git.
