Description:
As a Senior Machine Learning Engineer at Axon, you will play a crucial role in architecting and implementing the platform used by Axon scientists to revolutionize the public safety space.
Collaborate closely with other engineers to enable new AI capabilities for Axon products like Fleet, Axon Body, and Axon Air by supporting the training, evaluation, testing, and deployment of machine learning models.
Work on a wide range of domains and applications including computer vision, speech recognition, and NLU, LLMs.
Architect solutions for training and evaluating models on a distributed architecture, optimizing model training within Axon, and developing novel distributed solutions for continuous model improvement.
Influence the AI community by developing state-of-the-art solutions for privacy-preserving distributed model training.
Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or an equivalent highly technical field.
8+ years of software engineering experience with a proven track record in training.
Proficiency in Python and familiarity with ML frameworks like TensorFlow, Keras, PyTorch.
Advanced knowledge and hands-on experience with at least one cloud environment (AWS, Microsoft Azure, Oracle, or Google Cloud) and Infrastructure as Code for deploying Platforms at scale.
Experience with CI/CD solutions in the context of MLOps including automation with IaC (e.g., using Terraform).
Excellent problem-solving and software design skills.
Ability to communicate effectively with scientists, engineers, and ML/product managers.
