Description:

Syndica is creating the Cloud of Web3, providing enterprise-grade RPC infrastructure and developer tools for the Solana ecosystem.
The position is for a Senior Rust Engineer on the Infra Team, which is remote and available to candidates in the US only.
The role involves designing, implementing, and maintaining web services that process API requests at scale, focusing on reliability, performance, and metrics/observability.
Responsibilities include writing high-quality web services in Rust, owning the design and maintenance of core web services, and collaborating with other engineers to solve complex problems.
Success in this role includes becoming a core backend developer within three months, earning team trust and mentoring new engineers within six months, and establishing a reliable delivery cadence within twelve months.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 5+ years of professional experience using lower-level languages such as C, C++, Rust, or Zig.
Experience in building interpreters, virtual machines, and open-source libraries/SDKs is required.
A solid understanding of WebAssembly (wasm) runtimes is necessary.
Proven ability to learn new tools and apply that knowledge to enhance performance, safety, and quality of work is essential.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills are required to synthesize complex problems.
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or relevant experience is mandatory.
Standout experience includes working at a developer infrastructure company and proficiency in web and network protocols (HTTP, TLS, DNS) and monitoring tools (Prometheus, Grafana).
Strong understanding of database engines (PostgreSQL, Clickhouse) and cloud infrastructure (AWS, GCP, Azure) is preferred.
Experience with Kubernetes, Docker, and creating/maintaining CI/CD pipelines is advantageous.
