Description:
Mysten Labs is focused on creating foundational infrastructure to accelerate the adoption of decentralized protocols based on blockchain technologies.
The Senior Security Engineer will own the operational and software security of the Sui blockchain, wallet, Move language, and other Mysten systems.
This role involves supporting and collaborating closely with engineers working on sensitive components of these systems.
Security engineers will act as key points of contact for audit engagements and bug bounty reports.
Responsibilities include reviewing, monitoring, and improving configuration, development, build/CI, and deployment practices and policies used by Mysten Labs engineers.
The engineer will deploy, monitor, and manage security-related services.
They will respond to security/privacy incidents and severe issues using their knowledge of technical systems, such as key management systems and distributed systems.
The role requires monitoring and managing the overall supply chain used by Mysten Labs products and infrastructure, including third-party vendors and open-source dependencies.
The engineer will work with cross-functional teams to prioritize security engineering efforts and recommend processes to enhance security.
Guidance and technical direction will be provided to full-time employees or contingent workers to ensure proper remediation of vulnerabilities.
Requirements:
A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a relevant technical field, or equivalent practical experience is required.
Candidates must have hands-on production engineering experience, including containerization, orchestration, logging, and monitoring.
Experience with deploying on and with bare metal, Kubernetes, and Docker is necessary.
Familiarity with public cloud platforms such as AWS and GCP is required.
Experience in developing and deploying automated monitoring systems is essential.
Fluency in a systems programming language such as Rust or Go is required, with Rust being used extensively at Mysten Labs.
Candidates must also be fluent in at least one higher-level language, such as Python or Shell Scripting.
Preferred qualifications include experience working in environments with ISO27001 and/or SOC2 Type II certification/audits.
