Remote Senior Security Engineer (w/m/d)

Description:

• Kraken Technologies is seeking a Senior Security Engineer to join their growing Cyber Security Team.
• The role involves securing software development processes, platform services, and integrating security practices.
• Responsibilities include building and maintaining security tooling and infrastructure, responding to security incidents, and collaborating with platform and application teams to ensure security.
• The engineer will develop secure coding practices and provide guidance on application security best practices.
• Keeping up to date with security trends and technologies, and maintaining security documentation related to application security is also required.
• The position is full-time and remote, focusing on AWS technologies within an agile engineering organization.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have at least 4 years of relevant experience in security engineering.
• A strong background in information security and technology is essential.
• A solid understanding of web application security concepts, including OWASP Top 10 vulnerabilities and secure coding practices, is required.
• Experience with security tools such as web application firewalls, SAST/DAST tools, and vulnerability scanners is necessary.
• Good experience with AWS and familiarity with its security services, or a willingness to learn AWS if familiar with Azure or GCP, is expected.
• Knowledge of industry and regulatory security standards like ISO 27001, SOC2, and GDPR is important.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify and mitigate security risks are required.
• Some experience in software development or Cloud Engineering demonstrating a foundation in security best practices is preferred.
