Remote Senior Security Operations Engineer

Description:

• The Senior Security Operations Engineer position at Kraken Technologies involves supporting various security activities such as maintaining security logging, monitoring, and alerting processes and tooling.
• Responsibilities include responding to security alerts, improving detections, and reducing false positives.
• The role also involves operating security tooling in line with best practices and internal requirements, assisting TechOps and other teams in maintaining services with good security practices, and supporting security incident response, remediation, and root cause analysis.
• The engineer will help manage AWS native security services, participate in the company's information security program, and collaborate with colleagues across different teams to support security strategies and initiatives.
• Keeping up-to-date with emerging security threats, technologies, and industry trends to enhance the organization's security approach is also part of the role.

Requirements:

• Strong background in information security and technology with an understanding of security best practices and standards.
• Previous experience in working in security teams maintaining and improving security logging, monitoring, and alerting, including incident response.
• Experience in managing security tooling inline with best practice, such as endpoint security, email security, SIEM, SOAR systems, vulnerability management tooling, etc.
• Security certifications, cloud providers’ certifications, security qualifications, and strong skills in creating comprehensive security documentation are beneficial.
• Familiarity with AWS services, experience in managing cloud security services, using logging tools to generate alerts and reports, understanding of information security standards, and knowledge of the MITRE ATT&CK framework are advantageous.
