Description:

  • Shardeum is building a layer 1, EVM-based, linearly scalable, smart contract platform that provides low gas fees forever while maintaining true decentralization and solid security through dynamic state sharding.
  • The company aims to onboard over a billion people to the crypto revolution and democratize accessibility to decentralization.
  • The Engineering team is responsible for delivering the Shardeum Mainnet and developing the smart contract platform, consensus layer, and protocol layer.
  • The Senior Site Reliability Engineer will enhance observability, reliability, and availability by defining and tracking key performance metrics.
  • The role involves tackling complex technical challenges to improve systems and products for better reliability, deployment, and operation.
  • Responsibilities include automating routine tasks, collaborating with the infrastructure team, and taking ownership of security, scalability, operational integrity, and architectural clarity.
  • The engineer will develop and implement disaster recovery and business continuity strategies for blockchain infrastructure and design network topologies for optimal performance, security, and scalability.
  • The position requires creating and enforcing best practices, standards, and policies for blockchain infrastructure management.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have strong experience in Site Reliability Engineering (SRE).
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as Python, Scala, Go, JavaScript, Node.js, or Typescript is required.
  • Exceptional troubleshooting abilities with a proactive approach to identifying and resolving potential issues are necessary.
  • Experience with monitoring and alerting tools is essential.
  • In-depth experience managing Linux-based infrastructures and performing Linux/Unix system administration is required.
  • A strong understanding of networking fundamentals and protocols is necessary.
  • Experience with distributed systems and software architecture is required.
  • Familiarity with infrastructure management principles and tools is essential.
  • Outstanding communication skills are necessary to explain complex technical concepts to both team members and management.
  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field is required.
