Remote Senior Smart Contract Engineer, Base

Description:

• Base is seeking a Senior Smart Contract Engineer to join their team and support the Smart Contract engineering discipline.
• The mission of the Developer Product Group is to simplify building onchain, with products including Base, WaaS, and Cloud.
• The role involves working as a Core Dev on the open-source OP Stack, which will facilitate the next generation of onchain activity through the Superchain.
• Responsibilities include architecting and building secure smart contract protocols and backend services to connect Coinbase users with the crypto ecosystem.
• The engineer will drive standardization in crypto protocols by designing and defining interfaces.
• Collaboration with Base leadership and product teams to set onchain strategy and roadmaps is essential.
• The role also includes mentoring and training other team members on smart contract engineering best practices.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience with Solidity and smart contract development is required.
• At least 3 years of experience with backend/client-side development is necessary.
• Candidates must have a deep understanding of smart contract best practices and current industry patterns.
• Extensive experience with cryptocurrency, particularly Ethereum and DeFi, is essential.
• A strong interest and passion for contributing to the crypto ecosystem is expected.
• Candidates should have a passion for building secure, robust, and scalable infrastructure.

• The target annual salary for this position ranges from $180,625 to $212,500 USD, depending on work location.
