Description:

• Vultr is seeking a Senior Software Developer for their Storage team, working in a 100% remote environment.
• The role involves collaborating with infrastructure engineers, system administrators, developers, and product innovators to tackle complex challenges and deliver a dependable storage platform.
• Responsibilities include researching and developing new features, improving application performance, and designing state-of-the-art cloud provider solutions for high-performance computing.
• The developer will design, develop, and maintain storage-related contributions to the control plane in PHP and integrate orchestration code in Python.
• Contributions to the open-source Ceph project are expected to ensure reliability and performance.
• The position requires collaboration with internal and external teams to support the deployment of new features and optimization of existing codebases.
• Continuous improvement of storage solutions and participation in code reviews are also key aspects of the role.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 5+ years of experience in software engineering with a focus on storage systems.
• Proficiency in PHP and Python is required, along with substantial experience in developing control plane and orchestration code.
• A deep understanding of cloud storage architectures and technologies is essential.
• Solid knowledge of Linux/Unix operating systems is necessary.
• Experience with distributed systems and networking is required.
• Familiarity with containerization technologies such as Docker and orchestration tools like Kubernetes is preferred.
• Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work in a fast-paced, collaborative environment are essential.
• Strong communication skills to articulate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical stakeholders are required.
