Description:

  • Odin is seeking a Senior Software Engineer with a strong backend focus to join their team, which is essential for driving innovation while maintaining system reliability and scalability.
  • The role involves building and delivering new features end-to-end, ensuring high quality and performance from concept to deployment.
  • The engineer will drive major architectural and data model decisions, influencing the technical direction of projects.
  • Responsibilities include shaping and refining engineering processes to enhance development velocity, delivery quality, and the developer experience.
  • The engineer will balance innovation with maintaining legacy systems and mentor peers through technical knowledge-sharing.
  • Close collaboration with Product and Engineering leadership is required to align technical decisions with business goals.
  • The role also includes participating in hiring efforts to identify and attract top technical talent.

Requirements:

  • Proven expertise in backend development, including designing and operating highly available, scalable distributed systems, with a preference for Go, but experience in Ruby, Java, or similar is also valuable.
  • Candidates should possess a product-minded approach, understanding the "why" behind building features and empathizing with users.
  • An ownership mentality is essential, taking responsibility for the success of the product and overall engineering goals.
  • The ability to prioritize high-impact work while maintaining focus and urgency is crucial.
  • Creative problem-solving skills are necessary to challenge existing approaches and deliver quality solutions.
  • Strong communication skills are required to explain complex technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • A collaborative and growth-oriented mindset is important, valuing accountability and feedback.
