Remote Senior Software Engineer

Description:

• As a Senior Software Engineer at Fable, you will work closely with product, design, and other engineers to design, develop, and support enterprise-quality features that promote inclusivity in digital products.
• You will be involved in all aspects of the software development life cycle and encouraged to share your thoughts and ideas.
• The position is open to applicants located in Canada who can work close to the EST time zone.
• Responsibilities include contributing to the full product development lifecycle from ideation to deployment, full stack development across the technology ecosystem including Node.js, MongoDB, Express, React, and AWS, and developing and maintaining accessible front-end features and backend functionality.
• You will own, plan, and collaborate with team members to implement project-sized pieces of functionality and proactively recommend improvements to processes and products.
• Mentoring and upskilling other team members is also part of the role.

Requirements:

• You must have at least 6 years of full-stack engineering experience, specifically in developing web applications.
• Previous experience as a senior full-stack engineer is required.
• Experience with the MERN stack, feature flags, and error management is necessary.
• You should have experience using AWS cloud services and building applications to run in the Cloud.
• Knowledge of software development concepts such as automated testing, continuous integration, and design patterns is essential.
• Experience with web accessibility at some level is required.
• You should be a self-starter who thrives with minimal oversight and is eager to join a startup focused on social impact.
• Experience working in a remote agile environment is preferred.
• Experience building with LMS products is a plus.
• You must be an active problem solver, interested in learning about accessibility, and able to work within North American time zones, preferably Eastern Time.
