Remote Senior Software Engineer at Roofstock

Description:

Roofstock is seeking a Senior Full Stack Engineer with expertise in Ruby on Rails and React to lead and mentor a collaborative team.
The role involves working closely with Product, Design, and Engineering teams to design, build, and ship user-facing products.
Responsibilities include leading the design, development, and deployment of high-quality web applications, implementing innovative features, and enhancing user experience.
The position requires evaluating and improving application performance, scalability, and security, as well as conducting code reviews and providing technical leadership.
The Senior Engineer will stay updated on emerging technologies, drive continuous improvement in development processes, and mentor junior engineers.

5+ years of technical experience and a Bachelor's degree in computer science, Engineering, or a related field (or equivalent experience) are required.
Extensive experience with Python and React in a senior or lead role, with Ruby on Rails knowledge being a plus.
Proficiency in database systems like PostgreSQL, MySQL, and experience in database design.
Strong background in building and shipping web applications, RESTful web services, and modern web development technologies.
Familiarity with version control systems, agile methodologies, project management, and design/UX sensibilities.
Excellent problem-solving skills, communication skills, and the ability to work independently or in a team setting.

Competitive annual base salary ranging from $156,500 to $243,225, with adjustments based on experience and location.
