Description:

• Join PolicyMe, a remote-first, Toronto-based startup modernizing the insurance industry in Canada.
• As a Senior Software Engineer (Fullstack), you will build, architect, and scale PolicyMe’s platform to enhance user experiences.
• You will be responsible for developing key features and systems to support PolicyMe’s growth as a leading insurance brand in Canada.
• Build end-to-end experiences for a web-based application to create a modern and straightforward life insurance customer journey.
• Collaborate closely with product, design, and QA teams in a cross-functional environment.
• Serve as a role model for engineering standards, ensuring consistency across various codebases and processes.
• Drive sound technical decision-making and lead technical discussions.
• Ensure the platform is reliable, scalable, secure, and extensible.

Requirements:

• A strong technical background with at least 5 years of experience in web development.
• Experience working in UNIX/Linux environments.
• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment and build products from the ground up.
• Experience as a generalist, working on both frontend and backend tasks to solve problems and delight users.
• Demonstrated pride in successfully completing projects involving a variety of technologies and systems.
• Strong development skills in React, Python, and Node.js.
