Description:

SmartRent, Inc. is seeking a Senior Software Engineer I (Full Stack) to join their Core IoT team.
The role involves developing and enhancing the SmartRent platform, integrating smart community solutions with user-friendly software.
Responsibilities include designing and implementing features using React, React Native, and Elixir.
The engineer will enhance the Access Control platform for seamless access to common areas and improve the Self-Guided Tours solution for residents and property staff.
The position requires identifying areas for code optimization and leading efforts to update libraries and adopt new technologies.
Collaboration with QA engineers is essential to ensure software quality before release.
The engineer will conduct code reviews, knowledge-sharing sessions, and provide mentorship to junior team members.
The role involves continuous evaluation and improvement of development processes and tools.
The backend work will primarily use Elixir, with integration of hardware devices like BLE locks and thermostats.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 6+ years of software development experience in web technologies such as JavaScript, TypeScript, HTML, and CSS.
Strong full stack experience in React and its core principles is required.
Experience with RESTful APIs and asynchronous requests is necessary.
Familiarity with code versioning tools like Git is expected.
Excellent written and verbal communication skills are essential.
Candidates should demonstrate strong attention to detail and an understanding of the software development life cycle (SDLC).
A passion for ownership and teamwork is important.
Experience with backend programming languages such as Elixir or Ruby is required.
Proficiency with PostgreSQL or other relational databases is necessary.
