Description:

  • Porch Group is a leading vertical software and insurance platform focused on helping homebuyers move, maintain, and protect their homes, with a strong emphasis on homeowners insurance.
  • The company has deep relationships with around 30 thousand key companies in the home-buying transaction process.
  • Porch Group is seeking a Senior Full Stack Software Engineer to join their team remotely in India.
  • The role involves designing, developing, and implementing high-quality software solutions, conducting code reviews, collaborating with various teams, analyzing and resolving technical issues, and participating in agile development processes.
  • The ideal candidate will have 6+ years of professional software development experience, proficiency in JVM (preferably Scala) and modern UI frameworks (React, JavaScript, Typescript), experience with SQL, Kubernetes, Git, Docker, Jenkins, cloud platforms, Kafka, continuous delivery, test-driven development, and excellent communication skills.
  • The position requires working within core US business hours/EST time zone overlap.

Requirements:

  • 6+ years of professional software development experience building backend applications.
  • Strong JVM experience, preferably Scala, in a microservice architecture.
  • Strong experience with modern UI frameworks and standards like React, JavaScript, Typescript.
  • Proficiency with SQL and relational databases, preferably PostgreSQL.
  • Experience with Kubernetes or similar containerized software deployment/management tools.
  • Knowledge of cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) is a plus.
  • Familiarity with Kafka or similar event streaming platforms and message queues.
  • Experience with development tools such as Git, Docker, Jenkins, etc.
  • Experience with continuous delivery and integration practices, version control, test-driven development, and automated testing frameworks.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills, problem-solving abilities, and a collaborative mindset.
  • Ability to work within core US business hours/EST time zone expectations.
  • Fluency in English and Hindi.
