Description:

  • The Senior Software Engineer will be part of the Attachment Architects team responsible for attachment-related use-cases within the Smartsheet ecosystem.
  • Collaborate with other teams to enable users to attach files from various locations and provide services to download and replicate attachments.
  • Work on re-architecture, implementation, deployment, and maintenance of frontend UI, services, and infrastructure.
  • Build scalable back-end services using Kotlin and Java.
  • Develop responsive UI elements using React, JavaScript, TypeScript, Node.js, HTML, and CSS.
  • Solve distributed systems problems and work with modern cloud infrastructure like AWS and Kubernetes.
  • Participate in code reviews, architectural discussions, and mentor junior engineers.
  • Design key areas of scalable, performant systems and collaborate with product management and other business areas.

Requirements:

  • 5+ years of software development experience in building highly scalable applications.
  • Proficiency in full stack technologies such as Java, Kotlin, or TypeScript for at least 5 years.
  • Experience with microservice and event-driven architectures for 3+ years.
  • Familiarity with cloud technologies like AWS, Azure for 2+ years.
  • Knowledge of modern client JS libraries like React, Redux for 2+ years.
  • Ability to develop, document, and support REST APIs.
  • Understanding of software development patterns (SOLID, clean code, TDD) and practices (Agile, Scrum, Gitlab, JIRA).
  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Legally eligible to work in the U.S. on an ongoing basis.
