Description:

  • Wellhub (formerly Gympass) is seeking a Senior Software Engineering Manager for their CODE team in Portugal.
  • The role involves leading growth-focused teams, guiding tech leads, and fostering technical excellence and strong team dynamics.
  • Responsibilities include shaping engineering and product development landscapes, ensuring technical strategies align with business objectives, and driving architecture decisions impacting development interactions.
  • The position involves working with cutting-edge technologies on a global scale and developing a vision for the CODE Ecosystem.
  • The CODE team is responsible for developing and maintaining Wellhub's App, frontend, backend services, and design system to enhance the end-user experience.
  • The role requires collaborating closely with cross-functional teams, supporting existing systems, and driving data-driven decision-making processes.
  • The Senior Software Engineering Manager will also act as a bridge between engineering teams and stakeholders, ensuring effective communication and prioritizing wellbeing in the work environment.

Requirements:

  • Technical professional with a passion for software and product development.
  • Accountable with a high level of ownership over products.
  • Proactive, innovative, and data-driven, valuing facts and data in decision-making.
  • Expertise in at least two programming languages like Java, Scala, Python, Ruby, JavaScript, or Golang.
  • Proficiency in SQL/NoSQL technologies such as PostgreSQL, MySQL, DynamoDB, and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience managing managers of software engineering teams and familiarity with DDD, SOLID, Design Patterns, distributed systems, and architecture.
  • Strong communication skills in English and Portuguese.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science or equivalent professional experience.
