Description:

  • The Senior Software Engineer – Team Lead (Python/Django) position is a remote, full-time role focused on leading a team of engineers to build and manage the Meter Data Dashboard product.
  • The role involves close collaboration with the wider Kraken team and requires building a global, self-serve dashboard for meter readings used by energy specialists worldwide.
  • Responsibilities include line management duties, hands-on coding, and standardizing the way meter reading data is presented to enhance customer experience.
  • The team will work closely with five other product teams within the Meter Data Management umbrella, including reading ingestion, validation, and estimation teams.
  • The position requires engaging with stakeholders and clients to scope, prioritize, and develop new functionalities and features.
  • The Tech Lead will collaborate with a Product Manager to guide product and project management efforts and may participate in hiring for the growing team.
  • The role involves working with a global team across the EU, US, and APAC.

Requirements:

  • Candidates must have experience managing people and ideally have been involved in hiring and onboarding new team members.
  • A general interest in technology and problem-solving is essential, along with being diligent and thoughtful.
  • Applicants should be at the Senior Software Engineer level or above, with expertise in Python and Django (or equivalent web framework) for full-stack projects.
  • Experience in domain modeling, HTTP and REST APIs, writing robust and fault-tolerant software, Celery and async processing, and Postgres is required.
  • Bonus skills include experience with Terraform, React, Redux, and GraphQL.
  • Previous experience in the energy industry is also a plus.
