Description:

The Senior Software Engineer – Team Lead (Python/Django) position is a remote role based in Spain.
The company, Kraken, focuses on creating a smart, sustainable energy system and is looking for someone to help build and lead a team of engineers on the Meter Data Dashboard product.
The main responsibility is to develop a global, self-serve meter readings dashboard used by energy specialists worldwide to debug issues independently.
The role involves management responsibilities, including line management duties, while remaining technically hands-on.
The team will collaborate with five other product teams within the Meter Data Management umbrella, focusing on standardizing meter reading data for customer experience.
The position requires engagement with stakeholders and clients to scope, prioritize, and build new functionalities and features.
The Tech Lead will work closely with the Product Manager to guide product and project management efforts.
The role may involve hiring and onboarding new team members as the team grows.
Collaboration with a global team across the EU, US, and APAC is essential.

Requirements:

Candidates must have experience managing people and ideally have been involved in hiring and onboarding new team members.
A general interest in technology and problem-solving is required, along with being diligent and thoughtful.
The candidate should be at the Senior Software Engineer level or above, with expertise in Python and Django (or equivalent web framework) for full-stack projects.
Experience in domain modeling, HTTP and REST APIs, writing robust and fault-tolerant software, Celery and async processing, and Postgres is necessary.
Bonus experience in Terraform, React, Redux, and GraphQL is preferred.
Previous experience in the energy industry is a plus.
A passion for coding, curiosity, and eagerness to learn are essential traits for the candidate.
