Remote Senior Software Engineer – Team Lead (Python/Django)

Description:

• The Senior Software Engineer – Team Lead (Python/Django) position is a remote role based in Spain.
• The company, Kraken, focuses on creating a smart, sustainable energy system and is looking for someone to help build and lead a team of engineers on the Meter Data Dashboard product.
• The main responsibility is to develop a global, self-serve meter readings dashboard used by energy specialists worldwide to debug issues independently.
• The role involves management responsibilities, including line management duties, while remaining technically hands-on.
• The team will collaborate with five other product teams within the Meter Data Management umbrella, focusing on standardizing meter reading data for customer experience.
• The position requires engagement with stakeholders and clients to scope, prioritize, and build new functionalities and features.
• The Tech Lead will work closely with the Product Manager to guide product and project management efforts.
• The role may involve hiring and onboarding new team members as the team grows.
• Collaboration with a global team across the EU, US, and APAC is essential.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have experience managing people and ideally have been involved in hiring and onboarding new team members.
• A general interest in technology and problem-solving is required, along with being diligent and thoughtful.
• The candidate should be at the Senior Software Engineer level or above, with expertise in Python and Django (or equivalent web framework) for full-stack projects.
• Experience in domain modeling, HTTP and REST APIs, writing robust and fault-tolerant software, Celery and async processing, and Postgres is necessary.
• Bonus experience in Terraform, React, Redux, and GraphQL is preferred.
• Previous experience in the energy industry is a plus.
• A passion for coding, curiosity, and eagerness to learn are essential traits for the candidate.
