The Senior Software Engineer will work with the Wowza broadcasting engine to manage significant metrics, including 1,200+ CUDA capable GPUs, 12k+ concurrent live video broadcasts, 400k+ concurrent live video streams, 170k hours broadcasted daily, and 21.6 petabytes of data streamed daily.
Responsibilities include acting as a knowledge center for streaming best practices, participating in tech discussions to improve latency, engineering solutions for GPU efficiency, architecting new features for high video quality, planning and executing Wowza maintenance and upgrades, and fixing existing bugs.

Requirements:

Candidates must have previous hands-on experience working on large-scale video streaming and processing pipelines.
A deep knowledge of networking and sockets is required.
The ability to write clean and performant code and work with a large existing code base, including maintenance and debugging, is essential.
Proficiency with concurrency and multithreaded code is necessary.
Expertise in video processing, transcoding, and streaming technologies such as Wowza, HLS, ll-HLS, RTP, WebRTC, OBS, MPEG TS, and CMAF is required.
Previous experience leading and mentoring less experienced colleagues is preferred.
Bonus points for candidates with basic knowledge of Python/Django and TypeScript/JavaScript.
