Remote Senior Staff Security Engineer

Description:

• The Senior Security Engineer will manage the security infrastructure at Valo Health.
• This role will integrate security solutions into the environment to protect end users and the company’s assets, including data and Intellectual Property, in accordance with company Security Policies and Industry Best Practices.
• The Senior Security Engineer will perform security investigations and conduct forensic analysis when necessary, ensuring the protection of all investigation data and reports.
• Responsibilities include working with Technology, Science, and Therapeutic teams to support all security and regulatory needs.
• The engineer will evaluate emerging security Best Practices and regulatory requirements against the company’s current standards and improve the configuration of security controls when any gaps are found.
• The role involves providing security guidance to business and technology groups for implementing configurations and controls to protect company data and environments.
• The engineer will perform threat hunting within user endpoints and cloud environments.
• Establishing security controls to ensure data protection and integrity to surpass all audit requirements is essential.
• The engineer will work with compliance teams to provide up-to-date documentation, configurations, and evidence on an ongoing basis in defense of any industry regulations or certifications.
• Security investigations will be performed to document security events and identify and escalate Security Incidents.
• The engineer will respond to emerging threats with proactive and reactive security measures as security threats evolve and are identified.
• Managing the security infrastructure will include providing Single Sign-On, managed endpoints, endpoint detection and response, and security logging infrastructure.
• The role requires performing design, configuration, and support on network infrastructure, including firewalls and switches.
• Close collaboration with company security partners to provide a complete security program is expected.

Requirements:

• A Bachelor's Degree in a technology-related field or 5+ years of equivalent experience is required.
• A deep understanding of security controls in cloud architectures is necessary.
• Experience in securing and performing incident response activities in a distributed cloud environment is essential.
• Candidates must have experience performing forensics on endpoints and cloud environments while preserving the chain of custody and evidence.
• Experience in protecting and hunting for threats in a cloud environment is required.
• Investigating phishing emails and managing simulated phishing exercises using tools like Knowbe4 is necessary.
• Experience in performing security investigations and documenting Security Incidents is required.
• Candidates should have experience managing Single Sign-On and cloud authentication environments, with Okta experience preferred.
• Experience managing EDR systems, with Crowdstrike experience preferred, is necessary.
• Preferred experience includes securing and managing M365, MS Azure, and AWS cloud environments.
• Experience with Zero-trust and SASE solutions protecting mobile clients, with Zscaler experience preferred, is required.
• Candidates should have experience securing and managing office and physical computing environments with Next-Gen firewalls, with Fortinet experience preferred.
• Experience securing and managing virtual infrastructures, with VMWare experience preferred, is necessary.
