Description:
Syndica is creating the Cloud of Web3, providing enterprise-grade RPC infrastructure and developer tools for the Solana ecosystem.
The Site Reliability Engineer will maintain and operate Syndica’s blockchain infrastructure platform alongside other infrastructure engineers.
The role involves working closely with Data and Infrastructure teams to ensure the highest level of reliability, performance, and security of services.
Responsibilities include administering site availability, security, latency, and system health, as well as effective provisioning, installation, configuration, operation, and maintenance of services and system software.
The engineer will develop comprehensive monitoring solutions using tools like Kubernetes, Prometheus, Grafana, and others to provide visibility into system components.
The role requires troubleshooting issues across multiple layers of deployment and working with development teams to implement best practices for scalability, reliability, and security.
The engineer will forecast changes in demand and capacity, design and perform high-throughput stress testing, and troubleshoot critical customer issues related to Syndica’s RPC, APIs, and App Deployments.
Success in this role includes becoming the go-to person for site health within three months, earning team trust and delivering tasks independently within six months, and establishing a predictable delivery cadence within twelve months.
Requirements:
A minimum of 5 years of experience in a DevOps or Site Reliability Engineer role is required.
Proficiency in scripting languages such as Python and Shell, along with experience in at least one modern programming language (Go, Rust, Typescript, etc.) is necessary.
Candidates must have experience deploying large-scale systems reliably and using Kubernetes.
A working knowledge of web and network protocols and standards (HTTP, TLS, DNS, etc.) is essential.
Understanding of information security issues is required.
Experience in writing automation tools and a strong desire to "automate all the things" is expected.
Candidates should have capacity planning experience, including resource optimization and load testing.
A systematic problem-solving approach, combined with a strong sense of ownership and drive, is essential.
Standout experience includes familiarity with Prometheus/Grafana, infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform, Ansible, Chef), and virtualized systems (KVM, OVM, Containers/Docker).
Knowledge of load testing tools (K6, Locust, JMeter, etc.) and experience with CI/CD pipeline configuration is preferred.
