The Cody Prime team is responsible for the Enterprise service layer for Cody, which includes building secure services for authorization and authentication, developing tools for abuse detection, and operating analytics services for usage metering and billing.
Within the first month, new hires will onboard onto Sourcegraph's architecture and development workflow, understand the team's challenges, and start contributing to team goals.
By three months, employees will demonstrate a comprehensive understanding of the service stack, lead initiatives, and contribute to architectural design.
By six months, they will define long-term technical vision and strategies for product development and collaborate on the team's growth strategy.
The role requires a product mindset, balancing design philosophy with customer demand, and a focus on building self-service platforms and APIs.

Requirements:

Clear and empathetic communication skills are essential.
Proficiency in Go or other strongly typed languages, with a willingness to learn Go quickly.
General knowledge of deploying and managing services in cloud environments such as GCP, Terraform, and Kubernetes.
Skills in debugging, building, testing, and reasoning about moderately complex distributed systems.
Comfort with API performance, service monitoring, and metrics in distributed systems.
Familiarity with AI/LLM APIs and a willingness to learn about them.
Eagerness to assist other engineers with institutional knowledge.
Working hours must overlap with 9am-5pm PT for at least 15 hours per week.

Sourcegraph offers an above-average salary to attract top talent, with compensation based on the IC4 pay band and location.
The target compensation for this role varies by zone, starting from $80,000 to $200,000 USD.
