Remote Software Engineer - Creation Engine

Description:

• Figma is seeking a Software Engineer for their Creation Engine teams, responsible for core technologies powering Figma Design and FigJam products.
• The role involves working on client-side code in the browser, similar to a game engine, to enable rapid development of new products and features.
• Responsibilities include collaborating with designers, PMs, and engineers, building and maintaining tests, features, and infrastructure, and providing architectural designs and requirements.
• The position also involves modularizing the C++/WebAssembly engine, extending multiplayer protocols, creating frameworks for performance maintenance, optimizing file load times, and improving the renderer.
• Additionally, the role includes enhancing abstractions and APIs, expanding product functionality through plugins and REST API, and developing ML-powered extensibility features.

Requirements:

• Minimum 2+ years of professional experience shipping features or products with expertise in web frontend frameworks or C++/Wasm.
• Experience in game engines, client-side technologies, API products/integrations, or developer tools.
• Proficiency in programming languages like Typescript/Javascript, C++, React, Ruby, Java, Python, Go, or Rust.
• Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to plan features and tasks.
• Demonstrated growth mindset and experience in investing in peer learning, development, and impact.
