Description:
Figma is seeking a Software Engineer for their Creation Engine teams, responsible for core technologies powering Figma Design and FigJam products.
The role involves working on client-side code in the browser, similar to a game engine, to enable rapid development of new products and features.
Responsibilities include collaborating with designers, PMs, and engineers, building and maintaining tests, features, and infrastructure, and providing architectural designs and requirements.
The position also involves modularizing the C++/WebAssembly engine, extending multiplayer protocols, creating frameworks for performance maintenance, optimizing file load times, and improving the renderer.
Additionally, the role includes enhancing abstractions and APIs, expanding product functionality through plugins and REST API, and developing ML-powered extensibility features.
Requirements:
Minimum 2+ years of professional experience shipping features or products with expertise in web frontend frameworks or C++/Wasm.
Experience in game engines, client-side technologies, API products/integrations, or developer tools.
Proficiency in programming languages like Typescript/Javascript, C++, React, Ruby, Java, Python, Go, or Rust.
Ability to communicate and collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams to plan features and tasks.
Demonstrated growth mindset and experience in investing in peer learning, development, and impact.

Competitive annual base salary range of $180,000 - $350,000 USD.
