Remote Software Engineer - Fullstack (remote)

Description:

• Join PolicyMe, a remote-first, Toronto-based startup modernizing the insurance industry in Canada.
• As a Software Engineer, you will build, architect, and scale PolicyMe’s platform to enhance user experiences.
• You will be responsible for developing key features and systems to support PolicyMe’s growth as a leading life insurance brand in Canada.
• Your tasks will include building new product features in a React-based web application and contributing to a custom UI component library using shared npm packages.
• You will design and create new APIs in Python and integrate with various third-party systems such as payments and ID verification.
• Participate in group technical design discussions to contribute to the overall architecture of the platform.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 2 years of experience in software engineering, excluding co-op positions.
• A BS degree in Computer Science is required.
• Proficiency in web development technologies including HTML5, CSS3, ESNext, React, Python, and Node.js.
• Experience working in UNIX/Linux environments is necessary.
• A solid understanding of computer science fundamentals is expected.
• Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently in a fast-paced startup environment is essential.
• Strong communication, organizational, problem-solving, debugging, and analytical skills are required.
