Description:
Latitude AI is seeking a Software Engineer II for the Prediction team to work on designing and building systems for autonomous vehicles to understand the current scene and predict future scenarios.
The role involves analyzing perception team outputs, anticipating intents and trajectories of nearby objects, and deploying state-of-the-art algorithms in limited compute environments.
Responsibilities include improving autonomy system quality and safety by reasoning about uncertainty, agent intentions, and future behavior through probabilistic algorithms and machine-learned models.
Tasks include designing, implementing, and tuning algorithms and models for real-time prediction, measuring prediction quality, handling driving events, evaluating system performance, and ensuring reliable software delivery.
Collaboration across teams, monitoring system performance, and staying within resource constraints are key aspects of the role.
Requirements:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Robotics, or related field with 2+ years of experience, Master's degree, or PhD.
Strong knowledge of C++ with good software design skills and experience in Python.
Familiarity with probabilistic inference and prediction areas like probability theory, statistics, Bayesian inference, machine learning, time series forecasting, and generative or variational models.
Willingness to collaborate across teams, industry experience in writing production-quality code, and strong written and verbal communication skills are necessary.
