Remote Software Engineer (Python/Django) - Fully Remote

Description:

• This position is fully remote but candidates must be in the Eastern Time Zone (EST).
• The salary for this role ranges from $80,000 to $90,000 per year.
• The company is expanding its engineering team and is seeking a Software Engineer specializing in Python/Django.
• In this role, you will work closely with a skilled product manager on a small team to design and build an entirely new product.
• Responsibilities include delivering fully tested code on time and with quality.
• You will design solutions and code structures that follow best design patterns to ensure maintainability, sustainability, and performance.
• It is essential to ensure that all new code is delivered with adequate unit test coverage.
• Participation in discussions and documentation of best practices and standards for application development is required.
• You will participate in all Agile team meetings and work in a fast-paced environment with a two-week sprint/release cycle.
• Collaboration with product owners, front and back-end developers, and user experience teams is expected.
• You will assist product owners with issue prioritization and contribute to project scoping.
• Time management and meeting sprint commitments reliably are crucial.
• Reviewing requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback is part of the role.
• You will learn new technologies as needed and build solutions from scratch.
• Compliance with all company policies and procedures is mandatory.
• Staying current in profession and industry trends is expected.
• Successfully completing regulatory and job training requirements is necessary.
• Additional duties may be assigned as needed.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 2+ years of experience working with Python and related frameworks.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience with Django is required.
• Candidates should have 3+ years of experience working with Python libraries such as Pandas, NumPy, boto3, flask, pytest, setup, and prospector.
• A minimum of 2 years of experience in Python API development using frameworks like Flask, Django, or Django Rest Framework is necessary.
• Candidates must have at least 2 years of experience developing in AWS cloud-native or serverless approaches, including ECS, Lambda, IAM, API Gateway, CloudFormation, Code Deploy, Parameter Store, Secrets Manager, CloudWatch, and S3.
