Arista Networks is seeking a Software Engineer to join the OpenConfig team responsible for building a dynamic, programmable data center infrastructure using software-defined networking principles.
The engineering team at Arista has developed a new networking operating system based on state orientation, open standards, and a single software image consistency.
The State Orientation approach separates state information from protocol processing and application logic, providing module independence, self-healing resiliency, and multi-process software stability.
Arista's Open Approach involves building EOS on an unmodified Linux kernel, enabling full access to Linux shell and utilities, supporting Linux containers and virtual machines, and simplifying deployment of new services.
The Single Image principle ensures that a single software image runs across all products, improving network testing and reliability, reducing complexity and cost of network operations, and enhancing automation workflows.

Requirements:

Strong engineering and Computer Science fundamentals are required for this position.
The candidate should have an extensive background in algorithms and strong software architecture skills.
Fluency in one of C/C++/Python programming languages is essential.
Hands-on experience with designs and implementations in a strong product-engineering environment is a must.
