Description:

  • Carwow is looking for Software Engineers (SDE II) to join their team in GB, England.
  • The company aims to provide total confidence in car choices by revolutionizing the car-buying and selling experience.
  • The team consists of over 350 experts across the UK, Germany, Spain, and Portugal.
  • Software Engineers will work on cross-functional product teams, collaborating with product managers, engineers, designers, and data analysts.
  • The tech stack includes Ruby on Rails, PostgreSQL, Heroku, and Terraform.
  • Engineers will have the opportunity to work on a platform that shapes the future of car buying.
  • The role involves solving real-world problems, releasing code into production multiple times daily, and working towards continuous improvement.

Requirements:

  • Candidates should have around 2 years or more experience in software development.
  • Proficiency in Ruby, including Ruby on Rails, is required.
  • Experience working in a TDD environment is preferred.
  • Familiarity with event-based systems like Kafka is a plus.
  • Proficient use of git or other source control systems is necessary.
  • Candidates should have a metrics-driven mindset and care about the outcomes of their work.
  • Self-driven individuals who take responsibility for product outcomes and enjoy working in distributed teams are encouraged to apply.
  • Strong communication skills, a willingness to learn continuously, and the ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams are essential.
  • Writing maintainable code with good documentation, tests, and structure is expected.
