Description:

  • The Polkadot ecosystem is focused on creating a better web that respects individual freedom and data while empowering developers through decentralized technology.

  • The SDK-Node team is responsible for developing and maintaining the node software that powers the Polkadot network, including design, testing, implementation, and maintenance of key components such as networking, databases, runtime execution, consensus mechanisms, and synchronization logic.
  • As a Rust Core Developer, you will work with a motivated team of rust and backend experts globally, discuss new features and issues on GitHub, and tackle complex problems requiring innovative solutions.
  • You will also create integration and unit tests to ensure node functionality works as expected.

Requirements:

  • You must have at least 3 years of experience as a software engineer.
  • Significant backend experience is required.
  • You should be able to work on problems end-to-end, from analysis to implementation and testing.
  • Clear communication skills and a team player attitude are essential.
  • Experience with distributed systems is necessary, along with the ability to learn new concepts quickly.
  • You should take ownership of your area of expertise and work autonomously to identify what needs to be done next.
  • The ability to identify and remove performance bottlenecks is required.
  • Bonus experience includes familiarity with writing rust and blockchain technology, though these are nonessential.
