Espresso Systems is seeking a Software Engineer specializing in Smart Contracts to work remotely.
The company is the lead developer of Espresso, a global confirmation layer that enhances cross-chain composability by providing fast and reliable transaction confirmations.
The network is currently in its Mainnet 0 release and supports functionalities such as fast confirmations, decentralized sequencing, and low-cost data availability.
The team consists of a diverse group of contributors from various backgrounds, including developers, designers, and researchers.
The role involves collaborating with engineers and researchers to build blockchain infrastructure for Espresso's scalability within the Ethereum ecosystem.
Responsibilities include managing the entire lifecycle of EVM smart contracts, working with auditors to evaluate security, and taking engineering projects from concept to production.

Requirements:

Candidates must have 3+ years of professional software engineering experience or equivalent blockchain/smart contract development experience.
Proficiency in Solidity and inline assembly, particularly in memory layout, memory operations, and precompiles, is required.
Knowledge of the Ethereum ecosystem, including EIPs and ERCs, is essential.
Familiarity with ecosystem tools such as foundry, alloy-rs, and hardhat is necessary.
Candidates should be familiar with commonly used Solidity libraries like OpenZeppelin and Solady.
A strong understanding of software engineering and security best practices, especially regarding smart contract security, is required.
Experience interacting with dapps/web3 and shipping engineering projects to production is necessary.
Enthusiasm for the blockchain industry is a must.
