Description:
The Software Test Development Lead (SDET – Lead) is responsible for ensuring full test coverage for ongoing Accela Civic Platform (SaaS) releases in the Costa Rica center.
This role involves advancing Accela's maturity in Test Automation, Test-Driven Development, CI/CD, and Performance Engineering.
The position plays a key role in driving Accela’s roadmap to deliver cost-effective infrastructure and software systems by defining KPIs, standards, baseline architectures, and production initiatives.
The team embraces Agile methodologies for software development and fosters a culture of collaboration and active communication.
Responsibilities include launching and delivering new Accela product releases, designing and executing test plans, and enhancing frameworks for cost planning and production quality.
The lead will manage platform areas for functional, automation, and infrastructure initiatives, provide technical expertise on scalable SaaS solutions, and identify gaps and issues in processes.
The role requires continuous enhancement of testing strategies and methodologies, automating API and UI testing, and integrating test cycles with CI/CD pipelines.
Collaboration with cross-functional teams is essential to identify test requirements and drive the testing process.
Mentoring team members and staying updated with industry trends and testing techniques are also key aspects of the role.
Requirements:
A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related discipline is required.
Candidates must have 7+ years of quality engineering experience, including hands-on experience in system testing, test automation, and test harnesses using open-source tools.
Good knowledge of frontend and backend application testing, API and mobile testing, and integration with DevOps pipelines is necessary.
Experience with SaaS products, API services, and pipeline activities is a plus.
Proficiency in testing methodologies, tools, and techniques, including Agile methodologies and CI/CD pipelines, is required.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail are essential for identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving software issues effectively.
The ability to collaborate closely with clear communication skills across different time zones is necessary.
