Description:

The Sr. Database Reliability Engineer II at Axon will be responsible for leading coding, configuration management, and code reviews.
They will optimize and standardize Axon's datastore platform, build an automated k8s-based platform for managing datastore technologies, and collaborate with peers to facilitate application design related to datastore consumption.
The role involves developing a platform for vending datastore solutions, troubleshooting datastore utilization optimizations, and suggesting best-practice utilization patterns.
The position is remote in the United States and reports to the Engineering Director.

Requirements:

A Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or Engineering is required, with a Master's degree being a plus.
Candidates should have 10+ years of professional software development experience, with experience in platform automation tooling and/or developer experience tooling being advantageous.
Experience designing complex systems at scale and with microservice architectures and patterns is necessary, with knowledge of Cloud hosted services, architectures, and patterns.
Proficiency in observability platforms like Grafana, DataDog, or New Relic, various relational and noSQL datastore solutions, queueing solutions like Kafka, and IaC platforms like Terraform, Pulumi, etc., is essential.
