Remote Sr. Software Engineer | Backend

Description:

• Our client is looking for an experienced Sr. Software Engineer - Backend to lead the development of robust backend solutions for their AI-driven analytics platform.
• The role involves designing complex systems, driving projects to completion, and providing technical leadership to ensure high-quality deliverables.
• Responsibilities include leading the development and maintenance of backend services using Python and Postgres.
• The engineer will design, architect, and implement scalable systems and APIs.
• Collaboration with frontend engineers is required to integrate backend functionality into the Chrome extension and web frontend.
• The role also involves working closely with data scientists to incorporate LLMs (e.g., GPT-4o, Claude 3.5) into the platform.
• The engineer will develop and maintain Terraform scripts for managing cloud infrastructure on GCP.
• Driving projects to completion with minimal guidance and ensuring high-quality code standards is essential.
• Providing technical leadership and mentorship to less experienced engineers is a key responsibility.
• Collaboration with cross-functional teams and stakeholders to deliver innovative solutions is expected.
• Contributing to the development of engineering best practices and processes is also part of the role.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 7 to 10 years of experience in software development, with expertise in backend systems.
• Strong proficiency in Python and experience with TypeScript/React is required.
• Experience with GraphQL, particularly Hasura, and Postgres databases is necessary.
• A proven ability to design and architect complex systems is essential.
• Candidates should have experience with cloud infrastructure, particularly on GCP, and infrastructure as code using Terraform.
• Strong written and verbal English communication skills are required.
• Familiarity with LLMs and prompt engineering techniques is preferred.
• Experience working with large datasets in SQL (e.g., Snowflake, BigQuery, Redshift) and Python (numpy, pandas) is necessary.
• Candidates must be able to work in a time zone that aligns with the Americas.
