Description:

  • AKASA is a leading provider of generative AI solutions for the healthcare revenue cycle, focusing on prior authorization to claim management.
  • The Senior Software Engineer will be part of the Data Platform team, responsible for integrating analytics and reporting into customer-facing applications.
  • The role involves improving the existing data platform infrastructure and adding data pipelines to meet internal and external data requirements.
  • The position requires collaboration across Engineering, Analytics, Machine Learning, and Product teams.
  • Key responsibilities include setting architectural direction for the Data Platform, optimizing infrastructure and data pipelines, implementing a new Data Platform API layer, and mentoring less senior team members.
  • The tech stack includes Python, Postgres, Redshift, Prefect, Kubernetes, and various AWS services.

Requirements:

  • A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a similar field is required.
  • Candidates should have 5-7+ years of software engineering or data engineering experience.
  • Strong professional experience in at least one programming language such as Python, Java, C#, Ruby, or Kotlin is necessary.
  • Proficiency in SQL is required.
  • Experience with cloud computing, preferably AWS, is essential.
  • Candidates must be able to work on both greenfield projects and take ownership of existing projects.
  • A deep understanding of software development fundamentals, including object-oriented design and functional programming, is required.
  • Candidates should be highly self-sufficient and capable of solving complex problems independently.
  • A passion for addressing healthcare's unique challenges and opportunities is important.
