Description:
The Staff Cloud Security Engineer at Kyruus Health will maintain and operate secure cloud infrastructures, focusing on AWS and cloud-native technologies.
This role involves defining requirements for securely managing and configuring cloud infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (IaC) practices.
The engineer will implement measures for perimeter protection, including network security controls such as firewalls and intrusion detection systems.
Responsibilities include securing cloud-native applications by automating security assessments and integrating security practices into the development lifecycle.
The position requires implementing robust security controls for cloud workloads and data protection, including encryption and access controls.
The engineer will lead efforts in secrets management, ensuring secure storage and rotation of sensitive data across cloud environments.
Identity and Access Management (IAM) will be a key focus, defining requirements for managing user identities and access privileges.
The role includes contributing to security incident response efforts and ensuring compliance with industry standards such as SOC 2 and HIPAA.
Collaboration with other departments is essential, acting as a liaison to communicate complex security concepts clearly.
Continuous improvement initiatives in cloud security processes and practices will be part of the responsibilities.
The engineer will help achieve certification goals, such as HITRUST or FedRamp certification.
The position reports to the Senior Director of Information Security within the Engineering & Technology Division.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 8+ years of experience in cloud security or related roles, with at least 3 years focused on securing cloud environments like AWS or GCP.
Industry certifications such as AWS Certified Security Specialty or Certified Cloud Security Professional (CCSP) are preferred.
Hands-on experience in securing cloud environments, including IAM, network security, and data protection, is required.
Proficiency in cloud-native security tools and third-party security solutions is necessary.
Strong scripting skills in languages such as Python, Bash, or Terraform are essential.
In-depth knowledge of networking protocols and encryption technologies is required.
Experience with incident response, including monitoring and detection of security events in cloud environments, is necessary.
Familiarity with industry regulations and frameworks, along with experience implementing security controls for compliance, is required.
Candidates should possess exceptional analytical and problem-solving skills to address complex security risks.
Strong leadership and project management skills are essential for planning and executing security projects.
Excellent communication and collaboration skills are necessary for effective interaction with both technical and non-technical stakeholders.
Experience in mentoring and developing team members is required, fostering a strong team culture.
Benefits:
The base pay range for this position is $143,000 - $174,000 per year, with eligibility for an annual bonus program and equity.
