Description:
Found is seeking a Staff Data Engineer to join their data team, which consists of skilled data scientists, data engineers, and analysts.
The role involves designing, building, and operating large-scale data infrastructure systems to manage significant amounts of data.
Responsibilities include creating a data platform-as-a-service for internal customers, ensuring data integrity and discoverability.
The Data Engineer will bridge the gap between engineering and analytics, informing the roadmap for data infrastructure.
The position requires implementing ETL infrastructures for topline metrics, reporting, and product functionality.
The role also involves contributing to best practices and mentoring the broader data team.
Recent team accomplishments include deploying a feature store that improved machine learning model deployment time by ~50% and optimizing reporting latencies from days to hours.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 10+ years of experience in data infrastructure, data engineering, or analytics engineering roles.
Experience with relational databases such as Postgres/MySQL, dbt, and Airflow is required.
Applicants should have advocated for and implemented new technologies or frameworks that support data-driven decision-making.
Experience with cloud-native big data infrastructure on public clouds (GCP/AWS/Azure, BigQuery/Redshift/Synapse) is necessary.
The ability to write clean and maintainable code, primarily in Python, is essential.
Strong communication and collaboration skills are required to work effectively with cross-functional teams.
Previous experience in the fintech space, startup environments, or knowledge of bookkeeping and taxes related to self-employment is a plus.
