Description:
The Staff Data Engineer will collaborate with business teams to design systems architecture, focusing on creating robust, scalable, and optimized data architectures to support increasing data volume and complexity.
The role includes pipeline ownership, where the engineer will establish best practices for sourcing, qualifying, and ingesting data from third-party sources, and work with data analysts and scientists to analyze on-chain data at scale.
The engineer will be responsible for data strategy and execution, assisting stakeholders from Marketing, Product, Analytics, and Design teams with data-related technical issues and supporting their data infrastructure needs.
The position involves enabling business intelligence and data tools to extract valuable insights for data-driven decisions.
The engineer will keep up-to-date with industry trends in data engineering and explore new technologies for continuous improvement of data systems.
Collaboration and communication are key, as the engineer will work closely with analytics and business teams to define data requirements and ensure clear communication of project progress to stakeholders.
Requirements:
Candidates must have 4+ years of professional data engineering experience.
Experience in building and optimizing large-scale data pipelines from ingestion to insights is required.
Advanced working knowledge of Python and SQL is necessary.
Familiarity with modern data processing tools such as DuckDB, polars, and ClickHouse is expected.
Experience with cloud-based data management technologies, including Cloud Storage, BigQuery, ClickHouse Cloud, and Kubernetes, is essential.
Candidates should have experience with workflow orchestration tools like Dagster, Airflow, and dbt.
Experience with cloud services such as Google Cloud Services and AWS is required.
Strong analytic skills related to working with unstructured datasets are necessary, along with the ability to understand business requirements.
Excellent communication skills are required to engage, influence, and inspire partners and stakeholders.
Experience with web3 and blockchain protocols is a plus.
Candidates should be self-starters who take ownership, achieve results, and enjoy the autonomy of architecting from the ground up.
