Remote Staff Data Scientist (Machine Learning Engineer)

Description:

• The Staff Data Scientist (Machine Learning Engineer) at Atropos Health will work on developing and deploying data science products like models, recommenders, and databases in collaboration with Product and Clinical teams.
• Responsibilities include understanding product and clinical requirements, testing and maintaining data science products with software engineering best practices, articulating complex projects into workable solutions, managing and driving projects, and proposing opportunities for product innovation.
• The role requires fluency in Python, R, SQL, git, Linux, and cloud infrastructure (AWS and Docker), as well as experience manipulating large datasets and deploying models onto production infrastructure.
• Additional skills in epidemiology, RWE, causal inference, recommenders, NLP, data engineering, MLOps, or DevOps are a plus.
• The Staff Data Scientist will report directly to the President, Neil Sanghavi, and must be currently authorized to work in the United States on a full-time basis.

Requirements:

• Degree in Clinical Informatics, Bioinformatics, CS, Engineering, Epidemiology, Statistics, or a quantitative discipline.
• Experience manipulating large datasets and developing and deploying models onto production infrastructure.
• Fluency with Python, R, SQL, git, Linux, and cloud infrastructure (AWS and Docker).
• Knowledgeable about healthcare to understand product needs.
• Excellent problem-solving, project management, and team collaboration skills.
• Additional skills in epidemiology, RWE, causal inference, recommenders, NLP, data engineering, MLOps, or DevOps are a plus.
• Knowledge of relevant medical coding terminology (e.g., ICD, CPT, LOINC, RxNORM) is a plus.
• Masters or PhD training in a quantitative field is a plus.
