As a Staff Software Engineer, you will drive technical leadership for one or more teams within the Engineering Team.
You will improve the group product, team processes, and technical strategy in alignment with business goals.
The role involves fostering collaboration, inclusion, and mentorship while leading by example.
Responsibilities include proactively identifying and designing improvements to the system, clarifying ambiguous design choices, and championing team members' growth.
You will ensure that internal SLOs for service architecture are met and drive improvements in stability, performance, and security.
Active engagement in coding and collaboration across the group is expected.
You will model sustainable working practices and enable engineers to try new ideas and learn from trial and error.
Requirements:
You must have experience with development languages such as Typescript or Go, or be a polyglot with the ability to learn new languages.
A minimum of 10 years of software engineering experience, including leading and mentoring engineers, is required.
Understanding the importance of automated testing and code quality is essential, with possible experience in Test-Driven Development (TDD).
You should prioritize collaboration, pair programming, and code reviews.
The ability to work sustainably and iteratively while delivering high-quality code using continuous delivery is necessary.
Comfort in working across the stack as part of a cross-functional team is expected.
You must be approachable, friendly, and an excellent communicator.
Promoting testing as a natural part of coding efforts is important.
