Remote Staff Software Engineer

Description:

• The Staff Software Engineer is responsible for extending Circle's in-house blockchain systems infrastructure to support the tokenization of the world.
• This role involves analyzing requirements, procedures, and problems to improve existing systems and modifying systems as needed.
• The engineer will build and own scalable microservices that are responsible for reliable and secure APIs that transfer value and assets across all blockchain protocols as well as traditional banking protocols.
• Collaboration with Product and Engineering teams is essential to design, test, and shape Circle features, including developing and documenting system design procedures, testing procedures, and quality standards.
• Troubleshooting program and system malfunctions to restore normal functioning is a key responsibility.
• The engineer will build publicly accessible APIs that simplify integration for developers with complex payment systems.
• Integration of Platform Services with leading banks and financial technologies is required.
• Consulting with management to ensure agreement on system principles is part of the role.
• Writing the infrastructure to deliver great payment experiences, including data sources (SQL or NoSQL), messaging systems, and APIs is expected.
• Other duties may be assigned as necessary.

Requirements:

• A minimum of 8 years of professional software development experience in object-oriented languages such as Go or Java is required.
• A Computer Science degree or a closely related field (or foreign equivalent) is necessary.
• Technical leadership experience of teams greater than 4 on architecture and system design is essential.
• Expertise in one of the domains of API design, payments processing, or blockchains is required.
• A deep understanding and experience with architecture, design, and deployment of production-quality, scalable software is necessary.
• Knowledge of Web3, blockchain, and smart contract business logic is required.
• Proficiency in RESTful API design and development principles is essential.
• Experience with cloud services such as AWS, Google Cloud, or Microsoft Azure is required.
• Familiarity with container orchestration systems like Kubernetes or EKS, ECS is necessary.
• Experience with SQL databases and designing schemas is required.
• A deep focus on coding standards and code quality, with a desire for great test coverage to enable continuous delivery, is essential.
• Excellent communication skills are required to collaborate with remote teams, share ideas, and present concepts effectively.
• A self-starter with a curious mindset who enjoys moving at a fast pace and shipping software that improves user experience is necessary.

• This position is eligible for day-one PERM sponsorship for qualified candidates.
• The base pay range for this position is $172,500 - $227,500.
• An annual bonus target of 15% is included.
