Remote Staff Software Engineer

Description:

• The Staff Software Engineer at Kyruus Health will assume a technical leadership role on the Directory, Cost, and Search Services team, with ownership of solutions, systems, and projects.
• Responsibilities include developing, reviewing, testing, and debugging code to support software products, as well as contributing to the growth and development of other software engineers.
• The role involves developing and executing tactical and strategic plans from discovery through delivery, understanding requirements, and translating them into high-quality production deliverables.
• Candidates must have deep technical expertise in full-stack, cloud-based SaaS application development and delivery, AI-augmented search technology, and large language models (LLMs).
• The position requires direct contribution to the development and implementation of search services and front-end user experience, particularly in Developer Portals and API Marketplaces.
• Daily tasks will include designing and writing code, reviewing designs and code of others, and participating in Agile DevOps team activities.
• The engineer will help drive clarity in planning, contribute to task definition, prioritization, and assignment, and own multiple products with a DevOps and service-ownership mindset.
• The role includes delivering quality solutions with TDD, test automation, instrumentation, monitoring, secure coding, resiliency, and scalability.
• Collaboration with team members and cross-functional teams is essential to ensure successful project and product delivery.
• The engineer will report to the Manager, Engineering on the Directory, Cost, and Search Services team within the Buyer/Partner Applications Division.

Requirements:

• Candidates must have 5+ years of software engineering experience.
• Experience in assessing business value, trade-offs, risks, feasibility, and technical constraints during discovery, planning, and work prioritization is required.
• Proficiency in developing and delivering robust, scalable backend Search solutions using Java EE, Python, and AWS services is necessary, along with operational knowledge of AI technologies.
• The ability to lead other software engineers on multiple projects is essential.
• Strong communication and engaged listening skills are required to understand user needs and align with team goals.
• Candidates should have experience in mentoring engineers and fostering an inclusive environment.
• The ability to evaluate and recommend new technologies relevant to the tech stack is important.
• Strong relationship management skills across teams and with upper management are necessary for project success.
